Biodiversity & Adaptation to Climate Change Genomics & Scientific Computing

Shannon Hateley is a postdoctoral fellow in the Moi Lab using genomics methods to understand organismal response to climate change and the importance of gene expression modulation for climate adaptation. Prior to coming to Carnegie, she was a senior staff scientist at Ancestry. Hateley obtained her Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from University of California, Berkeley, with a designated emphasis in computational and genomics biology. She has worked both at lab bench and computationally studying gene expression, building bioinformatics tools, and characterizing human traits and disease. Hateley also holds a B.A. from St. John’s College where she studied the great books.
