Liat
Adler

Plant Science
Liat is a post-doctoral researcher in the Burlacot lab. She is interested in understanding the energetic requirements of CO2 concentration mechanisms in green algae and the wider implications that has for designing new sustainable food and energy systems. Liat completed her PhD in molecular plant sciences in the McCormick Lab at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, where she worked on transferring components of the Chlamydomonas CO2 concentration mechanism into Arabidopsis. She obtained a bachelors in natural sciences and a masters in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. During her PhD she did an internship with the Institute of Food Science and Technology where she wrote information briefs on food waste reduction for food industry professionals. For her hobbies Liat enjoys collecting and pressing leaves, rock-climbing,  crafts, acro, and pole-dancing.
