Lyssa
Freese

Ecology

Dr. Lyssa Freese is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working with Ken Caldeira. Her research lies at the intersection of climate change and the clean energy transition, as she aims to better inform the transition to a zero emissions energy system as well as mitigation and adaptation to climate change. Prior to joining the Carnegie Institution for Science, she obtained her Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science at MIT, and she worked for environmental policy think tanks in both Washington, D.C. and Beijing. In addition to the research she does with the group, she is passionate about community engaged science and using air quality to guide a just energy transition.
